And everybody thinks he's a tease.

I have been ridiculously busy lately, BUT I have a few drive-by things!

I had an excellent birthday, made even more excellent by [livejournal.com profile] kyrafic writing me my hardly-ever-written OT3, Stephen Colbert/Amy Sedaris/Paul Dinello - Farmers and Ghosts (Strangers with Candy RPF). It is SO GOOD YOU GUYS. Friendship fic that makes me so so so happy - their whole ridiculously long friendship, and Second City, and uh, I kind of love to an embarrassing degree, like, more than anything ever written. GO READ IT.

(Also, before that she wrote Shawn/Gus Psych fic, Nine True Facts About Gus and Shawn, Detectives/Boyfriends, that IS GRATE.)

I keep wanting to make an actual post about teevee, but I have 30 things I have to do right this second, SO INSTEAD. Two sentences about each of my shows:

How I Met Your Mother: OH MY GOD SLAP BET CONTINUITY! I have hardly ever been so delighted in all my days.

SVU: I don't even know why I bother anymore, but the low quality is pretty hilarious? I haven't even watched this week's episode yet.

The Office: You know, in the second season, the Jim/Pam relationship was like 90% delight, 10% bone-crushing sadness, but this season that ratio has completely inverted to 90% bone-crushing sadness and 10% delight, and I AM FINDING IT VERY OPPRESSIVE. At this point I really just want the two of them to get over it, stop being such a train wreck, be happy dating other people, GET THEMSELVES TOGETHER FOR GOD'S SAKE, and maybe later finally hook up when they have become people of courage (ESPECIALLY YOU, JIM HALPERT, YOU ARE THIS CLOSE TO BEING DEAD TO ME), and in the meantime I think the show should just let me watch everybody else, who are still 90% delight, so that I don't have to slit my wrists or something.

(Haha, longest two sentences ever? What I'm trying to say is, I will never be able to rewatch "Phyllis's Wedding", eva, and I'm still mad at the whole office for not KEEPING MICHAEL FROM EMBARRASSING HIMSELF. He's too young to know better, you guys! He needs someone to keep him settled!)

The Colbert Report: Oh man, lately Stephen has seemed so HAPPY - he breaks all the time and him being happy makes ME happy in a way that is possibly not entirely healthy. ALSO, how cute is it that every time Steve Carell is up for an award or something, Stephen does a bit on it? (Carell/Colbert - THE REAL OTP OF THE PIECE?) (Parentheticals don't count as my two sentences.)

Speaking of Colbert, here is my favorite picture ever taken in the history of time:

OKAY, I HAVE TO GO, FOR REALSIES.

[identity profile] park-hye-in.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
That picture is very awesome indeed.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Why is he sitting on the floor looking 15? I DO NOT KNOW BUT I APPROVE.

[identity profile] cosmic.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
That is only the second cutest picture of Stephen, ever. This (http://grrliz.livejournal.com/648994.html?thread=15668770#t15668770) is the cutest picture of Stephen.

Also, thank you for reminding me about HIMYM's existence. *goes to download*

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee, you know, for some reason I don't really like the one with the cat! I mean, it seems like I should, but for some reason he just looks weird to me. Whereas apparently him looking like a geeky teenager hits the part of my brain where at puberty I imprinted on geeky teenage boys. OR SOMETHING. I can't explain it.

HIMYM was SO GOOD this week omg.

[identity profile] lone-hobbit.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a gorgeous picture. So casual! The other one I like from that series is where he's walking down some stairs or something and it looks like he's rehearsing, trying to get in character, but the openness of it just makes him appear really alone, in his own little world. But I digress.

I really, REALLY need to watch SWC, because I've been watching Amy interviews for the last day and she is one of those women that make me rethink my sexuality. My God.

Steve/Stephen is a beautiful thing as well. In my spare moments I am writing Mr. Fox / Mr. Goose crackfic because I amuse myself. I am a sad, sad human being.

[identity profile] moireach.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
MY ICON SAYS HELLO.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
So super casual! Why is he on the floor? Isn't he the boss? I don't know, but I love it! That whole series of pictures is so great - I love that one on the stairs, and also the one of him in the bathroom, fixing his tie.

Dude, Amy is AMAZING. She's just so charmingly random and weird. Seriously, I only started reading about her and Paul 'cause I liked Stephen so much, and then I kind of ended up as much a fan of her and Paul as Colbert. THANKS FOR BEING SO AWESOME, GUYS. (And you should totally check out SWC, though it is weird and def. not a show everyone loves.)

MR. FOX/MR GOOSE?? I AM SO EXCITED TO HEAR THIS.

[identity profile] agate.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I ALSO ENJOY THAT PICTURE. Although I think my favorite from the shoot is the one with the tie. God help me and my thing with ties.

Seriously, lately he has been completely unable to get through a show without breaking, it is a DELIGHT.

Hee, this week's HIMYM was most excellent. Three to go!

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
IT IS MY FAVORITE PICTURE OF ALL THE PICTURES. Hee, yeah, I like the one in the bathroom with the tie, too. I think that's [livejournal.com profile] moireach's favorite - it really hits that domestic/getting dressed kink.

I knoooooooooow! I live for when he breaks, which means I have been really living, lately. I really want to know what's happened to make him so cheery!

I couldn't BELIEVE that they actually did the slap bet continuity! SO AWESOME. So many great things in that episode, too - the look on Barney's face when Ted and Robin were moving in together (Because he loves Ted, or because he loves Robin? OR BOTH), etc, etc.

Is that Jim Halpert all the way on the right in that pic? What world am I in?

SLAP BET FTW.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, oh GOD, that totally looks like Jim Halpert! WEIRDNESS. Have you seen those pictures from last year's Emmy's where Jon Stewart is in a pic with JKras? (Both with Steve Carell, obvs.) It blew my mind a little bit.

SIRIUSLY. You know, Marshall must've been sitting there thinking about slapping him for AWHILE. THREE MORE SLAPS TO GO. They could stretch those out over YEARS.

Gah, that picture KILLS me. Have you seen the black-and-white one where he's doing his tie in front of the mirror? That one kills me even HARDER, if you can believe it.

Also, agreed about The Office. It's still really good, but oh my god, THE ANGST!

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yis!! I love the one with the tie in front of the mirror too, but the sitting on the floor one for me is the winner. I don't even know why! The things Colbert does to me. But that whole picture series is amazing.

Totally, The Office has remained super high quality and awesome, but I cannot even DEAL with the train wreck that is Jim/Pam. PLIS STOP YOU GUYS.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
YEAH YOU DO. Hey, did I mention that I liked that fic you wrote?

(WHY do I not have an OT3 icon? This needs to be remedied.)

[identity profile] ciachick711.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Much love for that picture. And some of my friends and I have decided that Stephen needs to be Jan's ex. Because he would be perfect for Gould. ("No Gould? Is Gould dead?") I loved during the satellite feed the other night that Stephen did his impression of Walter Cronkite and then completely lost his shit. That was awesome.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
!!!!!!!!!!!! Jan's EX. That is an AMAZING idea. ART GOULD. Plus, everybody else who's been on the Daily Show has been on The Office. My brain would break if that really happened, in an AWESOME way. Also, the idea of Colbert and Carell competing over Jan? I think I'm getting heart palpitations!

Omg, that toss with the Walter Cronkite thing was AMAZING. SO MUCH JOY. And after that, he couldn't keep it together for, like, the whole rest of his show. Whenever Jon starts laughing, he's gone.

I have decided that Pam and Jim aren't allowed to be together. I'm sorry. But what would that relationship be LIKE? Would they still be terrified of communicating ANYTHING? I think the answer is yes.

Jim -- (points at salt shaker) "Could you pass the -"
Pam -- (in a tone that could be confused or could be annoyed) - "I'm sorry, what?"
Jim -- (drawing his hand back slowly, uncertain) - "Uh. Nothing. Nevermind." (continues choking down
bland eggs)

AAAAUUUUUUGH.

Pam should be with Michael and Jim should be with Dwight. Or Michael. Pam and Jim should *share* Michael. Pam and Jim and Michael should have a threesome? I don't know. But Michael and Dwight push Jim and Pam into being blunt and honest and human.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, while I think the show could get me back to shipping Jim/Pam, I pretty much agree right now. They are being SO RIDICULOUS. Haha, that conversation pretty much sums it up.

Hee, do you really think Pam/Michael could work in the longterm? I mean, I know they're going to have a kid together in 30 years, but even so.

WRITE PAM/MICHAEL/JIM, I DARE YOU.

Did I miss the memo saying it's that time in the season when I want to start killing all the members of my OTPs again? I must have. *sigh*

On the plus side:

1. That picture. !!
2. I just listened to This American Life from Valentine's Day week, and there was a teenage crush story involving internet flamewars, cutting, lesbians, and Evanescence lyrics, and I haven't stopped laughing for ten minutes now.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Heee. What, does Olivia and Elliot slow progression to CRAZYTOWN get a little frustrating sometimes? Hey, remember that time Elliot killed that dude?

Isn't that picture amazing? MY HEART.

I haven't listened to the TAL from Valentine's Day yet! I will totally look forward to that! Haha. Right now my journal subtitle is "Cutting made me forget my eating disorder," which was AN ACTUAL UNIRONIC HEADLINE in Jane Magazine, and which I find inappropriately hilarious.

Happy birthday! Had I know, I would have finished your Ted/Lily instead of throwing all my effort into a giant "Waaaaaaah, I miss The OC!" epic.

Also, um, that GIANT MONSTER SLAP was the greatest thing on TV this week. Everybody's shocked and Marshall's all "That's two."

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-23 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, thank you! And heeeeeee. As long as the Ted/Lily is still in progress, I am a happy camper!

Omg, wasn't that slap AMAZING?? Seriously, I didn't know that show did continuity like that! FANTASTIC.
