FIC MEME: 2009

God, this is so late, but for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide I wrote Cat's Cradle (Cat/Gwendolen, rated maybe PG, 3871 words), for Diana Wynne Jones's Chrestomanci series, by the way. Because nothing says happy holidays like creepy incest, haha.

I usually do that year in fic meme, but this year, while I wrote many, many words, I did not write a wide variety of stories. So I guess this won't take long; more for my own reference than anything. (Previous versions: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008.)

Fic I posted in 2009:

  • Many, many installments of [livejournal.com profile] easy_academy. Disney RPF/Band of Brothers high school AU, with additional sitcom crossovers. Lewis Nixon/Nick Jonas, Lewis Nixon/Dick Winters, Dick Winters/Nick Jonas, etc. NC-17. Currently at 424,142 words, of which I personally have written 155,652. Oh, dear God. Co-written with [livejournal.com profile] agate, [livejournal.com profile] irishmizzy, [livejournal.com profile] londondrowning and [livejournal.com profile] mozarts_friend. (Begun Jan 15, 2009, still in progress.)

  • The Brothers Who Were Turned Into Birds. Jonas Brothers RPF. Joe/Nick. R. 3500 words. Summary: "I'll always protect you," Joe whispers, more to himself than you. It's not the first time he's said it. You're six years old and it never occurs to you to ask him from what. (January 21, 2009)

  • Build Our House on a Mountain. The Office/Dawson's Creek. Pam/Pacey. PG-13. 10,833 words. Co-written with [livejournal.com profile] lowriseflare. Pam and Pacey are forced to be roommates in NYC. (Sept 16, 2009)

  • Cat's Cradle. Chronicles of Chrestomanci. Cat/Gwendolen. PG. 3871 words. For [livejournal.com profile] yuletide Gwendolen didn't seal herself off as well as they all thought she did. (Dec 25, 2009).

  • Part 5 of Sad Songs to Keep Me Awake. Band of Brothers/Jonas Brothers. Joe Jonas/George Luz, Nick Jonas/Lewis Nixon. NC-17. 9780 words in that installment. The Jonas Brothers go to sexy war. (July 6, 2009).

  • Epilogue to Life under the Observer Effect. The Office. Pam/Ryan, Jim/Pam. R. 2700 words in the epilogue. Fic was a Pam/Ryan comedy of remarriage. (May 5, 2009).

That's a total of 186,336 words, in just five fandoms. (I used to think 60,000 words was about how much fanfic I could consistently write in a year. Ha. Ha. Ha.) I would answer the meme questions about the year's fic, except since practically all I wrote was easy_academy, that seems pointless, haha. I remember how a year ago, I thought we would write that thing for like a month and then get bored with it -- I did not know anything could hold my attention for this long and be this much fun, my goodness.

I can't believe we're already two weeks into 2010.

I KNOW, RIGHT? I don't know what happened to me, Fodlet! It is crazy talk! I almost feel vaguely embarrassed.

NICK JONAS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, it's almost the ficaversary! That has gone FAST, I can't even believe it's tomorrow.

Awww, thank you so much! Those vids are so fun to make and so semi-embarrassing, haha. That fic, I don't even know why it ate my brain so hard, but I have no regrets.

LOL WHUT is the only thing I can think to say about any of this. God, what is wrong with us? THANKS A LOT, NICHOLAS.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I KNOW. HOW DID THIS EVEN HAPPEN?

[identity profile] londondrowning.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It was very late, Jim.

Every time I look at the word count for Easy I have this "HAHAHAHA WHAT THE WHAT" reaction. No matter how much time goes by it never goes away.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
OH, IT'S NBD, IT'S JUST FOUR LONG NOVELS, THAT'S ALL. What on EARTH?

[identity profile] miss-bennie.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha awwww, Sad Songs! Sometimes I forget just how many FEELINGS I have about Joe Jonas and George Luz. And then all that sexy war just slaps me right in...in the heart. I don't know, I don't know what I'm saying. <3

[identity profile] irishmizzy.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The other day Talking in Code came on during my commute and I prooooobably should've pulled over because when it got to "I'm sleeping alone / in a house I don't own," I had a feelings-induced stroke.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I knoooooooow, I love them so much! I really need to finish that thing, too bad about the lack of momentum, haha.

[identity profile] irishmizzy.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, remember that time we looked at the wikipedia list of the longest books ever written? <3<3<3<3<3

[identity profile] londondrowning.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh God. Oh God, do I want to ask where Easy fell on that list?

[identity profile] irishmizzy.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man I don't remember and I don't know if I want to do a gmail search to refresh my memory.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahahahaha, oh God, I had forgotten that! TERRIFYING. A-at least we're not up to Proustian levels of length yet?

[identity profile] mozarts-friend.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought about doing this meme...until I realized I'd only written easy_academy this year too. (Oh god, I just added it up and my Easy word count is 114,540 - WHAT HAVE OUR LIVES BECOME??)

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
HEE, I know, right? Once I added it up I almost wished I hadn't. That was a sobering mirror to look into.

(Oh God, I just looked at that list of longest novels, and War and Peace only has about 460,000 words! AUGH. WE'RE GAINING ON IT.)

[identity profile] cashewdani.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
I can't believe it's been a whole year!! I feel like I was just asking you ladies, what is this sexy war you speak of? And Nicholas Jonas, why am I feeling every feeling on the planet about him? Everyone's growing up so fast.

You know that I've adored every word that you've written, or if you somehow didn't, well this is me informing you that happened. HEARTS!!

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I knooooooow, the year has flown by! I can't believe we're still working on it.

Awwwwwww, you're so sweet! <3 <3 <3 <3

[identity profile] lowriseflare.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, you are great. AND, UH, PROLIFIC. My goodness.

Also, did I ever tell you how much I liked Life Under the Observer Effect? If not: there you go. That whole story was smart and super.

(Forced to be roommates. It's gonna be a thing.)

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahaha, God, I never used to be prolific on this scale, I don't know what happened to me.

And awww, thank you! I'm so glad you liked it -- that was a really fun one to write.

(FORCED TO BE ROOMMATES IS SO GONNA BE A THING.)

Heeee, awww, thank you so much! It's so weird to have written that much, I'm torn between being proud and embarrassed. That was a lot of writing while in lectures, in cars, while sitting on boathouse roofs, on the beach, in two countries and many cities, sometimes in church, and while supposed to be doing many, many other things, haha. I'm really glad you've liked it so much!

Hello,

I can't seem to access your story: five families connor was not magically squeezed into after his real vampire dad slit his throat

And I was wondering if it was located anywhere else besides your website?

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Hi! Yeah, sorry about that, I just let my website expire and I'm trying to update my delicious links to those fics slowly, but haven't gotten to all of them yet. That fic is here on my LJ, though, hope you enjoy!
