I like how old hymns used words like "interpose."
It's always so weird when I find an mp3 on my computer that I swear to God I've never heard before. Where do they come from? Anyway, apparently Sufjan Stevens has a version (on my computer, what? how?) of "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing," which is tied for my first favorite hymn, and it's just -- it's just a really good version, you guys. I might just be having a disturbingly Proustian flashback to college, when we sang it a lot -- but, in retrospect, college was probably the worst four years of my life, so maybe that's not actually affecting me that much. Haha. Anyway, I've had this song on repeat one for like 24 hours straight, and hoo boy, it's been a long time since I've done that. (That's a lie. It's been two weeks, tops.)
REGARDLESS. Here is that and the other music I have been over-listening to in the time since Christmas. Enjoy how I am the last person on earth to realize that The National is really good.
Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, Sufjan Stevens
Insomnia, Electric President
Mr. November, The National
Fake Empire, The National
Start a War, The National
In other news, are any of you guys watching the cop show "Life"? Because, um, I might've finally caved and gotten into it, via the most roundabout possible route. Here is a diagram of how it happened, true story:
Cary Grant --> comedy of remarriage -->
hobviously recommends the "Shakespeare Retold" version of Much Ado about Nothing --> hey, that dude playing Benedick is pretty fantastic --> imdb --> he is also the dude from Band of Brothers, which has been in my Netflix queue for like 3 years?? --> he is also the dude in Life, that show
sloanesomething told me months ago I would like?? --> hey, this Life show is pretty well written --> there's not something else I'm supposed to be doing today, is there?
Sigh. ANYWAY, if you watch it, come talk to me about it -- I've only watched the first 3 episodes, so don't spoil me, but HOLY CRAP, RIGHT?
(Also, Band of Brothers is in the mail, so... be on the lookout for that.)

I hope you continue to like the show!

Have you written any fic for it, by any chance? BECAUSE I COULD BE INTO THAT.

Have you seen this YouTube vid?

I totally hearted it. But again, I also totally lack objectivity, so proceed with caution!
I have to tell you, when I saw this post, my reaction was, "OMG, does this mean it's possible she will write Life fic? DARE I DREAM?" So I will keep my fingers crossed that they click for you and that your story-writing-impulses are called into action!

I am ALREADY having ideas for Life fic. Auuuuuuugh no time, but they're so pretty! If I write fic, you have to write fic too, okay? Let's make a partner pact. Will flattery help? Because I can tell you again how Spring Cleaning is still my favorite fic in Office fandom. I'm just saying.
Hahaha. And do not apologize to me to lacking objectivity. Just check out my feedback in Office fandom circa May 2006, because I read some THINGS. Heeeee. I AM VERY EXCITED TO WATCH THAT VID.

And OMG, you're already having ideas for Life fic! You & Lifefic = Meant to Be! I will totally promise to try to write something if you promise to as well! I have to write a certain challenge story, and a friend requested a story for her birthday, but of course I'll probably spend most of my time daydreaming about Life fic instead. When I write an embarrassingly earnest h/c songfic about them, you will have NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF.
I hope you like the vid! And I can't believe what you say about Spring Cleaning - thank you! I feel like a dork saying it's such an honor, but you know, it is, because I think your writing is so amazing. Thank you.

YAY MUTUAL FIC! Hee, yeah, I have a certain challenge fic myself, and a Warning Labels millstone around my neck, etc, BUT. LIFE IS COMING FOR US.
(Omg earnest h/c for them WOULD BE AMAZING. I'm feeling a lack of h/c in my life lately, for some reason. HEY, REMEMBER THAT TIME SHE GOT A FACEFUL OF COKE AND HE HAD TO PUT HER IN THE SHOWER?)
I LOVED the vid. Ahhhhhh so good. I can see that a youtube vortex of fanvids is in my future heeeeeee.
I MEAN IT about Spring Cleaning! <3 <3 <3
