Fic recs! All of a sudden I have been reading things that are AWESOME instead of things that are terrible. I don't even know.

Occasionally We Stop and Stare Past Tiny Paintings by Pemulis (The Office, gen, ensemble) -- This fic came out of nowhere, isn't on LJ, and is by someone I don't know. And yet it's awesome? That doesn't happen in this fandom! Seriously, though, this fic is incredibly amazing - gets every character perfectly dead on, is really well-written and interesting, and completely insightful, and sad, and beautiful. I worry that because it's gen and ensemble people will think it's going to be boring, but it is NOT, it is awesome. Reeeeead it.

Sometimes Lonely Hearts They Just Get Lonelier by sophia_helix (The Office, Toby gen, Casino Night) -- This one isn't surprising, since it's by sophia_helix, but dude. I am still kind of awestruck -- this fic is about Casino Night and yet is also new and interesting. How is THAT even possible? It's a perfect Toby, and a perfect view of the documentary, and ohhhhh, it hurts so good.

My Gay Jungle Fever (Scrubs, JD/Turk) -- This is one of the sitcomathon fics that I somehow missed the first time around, and geez. I'm so mad I didn't read it sooner, because it's SO GOOD. JD and Turk are canonically super gay for each other, and this is about that, and also growing up, and things changing, and on top of all that wistfulness, it's funny, too. Excerpt:

"We used all our alcohol on our Booze Kiddie Pool."

"That wasn't as fun as I thought it was gonna be."

"No," JD agrees. "It burned my eyes."

And in other news.... This is incredibly retarded of me -- I'm not a vidder, but I've been messing around lately, and. Um. I vidded Dwight/Michael to "If I Were Gay", and now it's on youtube (at youtube quality, which is so rad). You know, it shouldn't be surprising how often Dwight looks longingly at Michael, but it still kind of was. Amazing. Anyway, it's embedded here under the cut, for your mocking pleasure.
