Ugh, you guys, the Leslie-bashing is already starting in Parks and Rec fandom, and I feel so weary. She hasn't even broken up with Ben (yet? I'm unspoiled, keep me that way!), but I feel like if she does in season 4, the fandom is going to be a nightmare hellscape of misogyny, and it's upsetting to me. On my Murtaugh List: listening to sexist bullshit that seems to assume that any woman who cares about her career or even her own happiness over a dude is an uppity bitch. I am too old for that shit.

Ladies bashing ladies. When are we going to cool it on that, fandom?

(Haha, the best, most nonsensical bashing so far: I keep seeing people complain that because Leslie said, "If this turns into something real" to Ben after they had been dating a week, she is not taking the relationship with the appropriate level of seriousness. Lolololol you guys have met a human being before, right? EVEN IF SHE WAS MENTALLY PLANNING THEIR WEDDING, SHE WOULD SAY THAT SO AS NOT TO SEEM LIKE A WEIRDO. But no, try saying "When we get married" to someone you've been dating a week, see how that goes over.)

(All the Leslie-bashing from Ben's POV is starting to make me hate Ben, so I think I'm going to have to, like, quit reading fic/watching

(Which, honestly, I have been really in the mood for Leslie/Ron fic lately anyway. Whyyy is there not more, they're so married! Blatant mustache discrimination.)

But whatever, the season 3 DVDs came out yesterday! Delightful things from the stuff I've watched so far:

1) The gag reel's revelation that Adam Scott clearly hates Rob Lowe's guts, and that Nick Offerman probably does too. (Offerman is harder to read, but omg, Adam, are you even trying to hide your irritation??) This makes me like both of them SO MUCH MORE THAN I ALREADY DID, Rob Lowe, you are such a jag, I wish you would get out of this otherwise delightful cast.

2) Mike Schur said that he's been friends with Rashida Jones since 1993. THAT WAS THEIR FRESHMAN YEAR AT COLLEGE. OH MY GOD, THAT IS AMAZING. I want weird Harvard RPF of them now where she's way out of his league but he has a huge crush on her, and they listen to Neutral Milk Hotel and go to Lamont together and complain about fires on the red line. Also now I am wondering if this is how Poehler knows Rashida, since Schur wrote for SNL and produced Weekend Update, etc. That is adorable and delightful.

3) Ugh also the commentaries and gag reel totally made me ship Amy Poehler/Adam Scott a little bit. What's next, am I going to write JKras/Jenna Fischer fic, ugh wretchery.

4) Pratt getting a boner when Aubrey slapped him omg. Haha, I don't know if he was in character, but it kind of seemed like not? EITHER WAY, I AM CHOOSING TO BELIEVE THAT HAPPENED FOR REAL, WHATEVER.

5) Adam Scott trying to think of a name for a hot club and coming up with RASCALS. I am still laughing today. Nerdddddddddd.

6) Also other stuff, but I feel like this is getting boring.

Okay, enough fandom stuff for now. In other news, I dyed my hair blond, bought tickets to visit my brothers in Seattle later this month, and am trying to deal with my depression over the 40 degree drop in temperature and constant rain this week. I hate when summer ends.

Oh jeeze, I haven't seen any Leslie bashing yet, but I will GO TO TOWN if it crops up on my dash/FL this season.

I'm having a hard time dealing with P&R fandom in any capacity rn, all the spams, all the meta, all the flurry over the extras is like P&R: starring Adam Scott. And this is coming from a quasi-stan. I had to tumblr savior his name otherwise I will burn out on him like I did with Andrew Garfield and so many other peeps.

That said, OMG ADAM/AMY SO CUTE ON THE COMMENTARIESSSSSS. Boingy.

I am cackling just a little bit on the inside because it always makes me feel better (MORE SECURE) when younger, formerly idyllic fandoms hit that bend in the road where everything suddenly becomes fraught with controversy and bitterness. (Though obviously girl-bashing over a pairing is the most annoying way for this to happen.) Um, I guess I don't like to see other people happy with their toys, especially if I am not. And personally I prefer Leslie/Ron.

Ugh, Rob Lowe is so annoying ON THE SHOW, I can't imagine having to act with him. Dude, you hopped off the boat when you left The West Wing because ~it wasn't enough about you~ so suck it up.

For the past two years, October has been waaay unseasonably warm, so I am praying this current bout of cold weather is just a fluke. (If it's not, I will be so sad.)

NOTHING HAS GIVEN ME MORE JOY IN THE LAST 48 HOURS THAN THAT TUMBLR POST ABOUT EVERYONE HATING ROB LOWE IN THE BLOOPERS. Is it unhealthy that I almost as much joy in hating Rob Lowe as I do in loving Leslie Knope? Because I do.

LESLIE KNOPE IS THE BEST PERSON EVER TO (NOT ACTUALLY) EXIST AND I WILL STOP THIS MOTHERFUCKING CAR AND TURN IT AROUND IF FANDOM FORGETS THAT IN SEASON 4.

Gosh, you have totally sold me, I really want to get the DVDs now just to listen to these commentaries. You have also managed to make me want to bone Mr. Adam Scott even more, thank you very much (I'm trying to figure out the logistics of that, being that I'm a girl, but you know - details.)

Um, so yeah. I would read Leslie/Ron if you wrote it. Or Leslie/Ben/Ron. Or Ben/Ron. Hee hee. Just sayin'. Can you tell I like Ron?

Also, I don't get people that have to go so crazy over this relationship stuff - maybe I'm just not as invested as I used to be in fandom, but is it really the end of the world if they break up? I mean, they're pretty much awesome together, so it would definitely be sad, but I feel like at some point they'd get together again because they couldn't stay away, that's sort of the way I play it in my head, anyway.

Also please do not tell me you don't think that John has crushed on Jenna at some point. Yes, RPF about it does kind of make me feel like a weeaboo. BUT, to be fair, a lot of us at some point form crushes on our cute and charming co-workers, whether we can help it or not. And yerrrr I speak from experience. Not that anything ever comes of it (OK, once and the guy ended up unceremoniously dumping my ass by never calling me again). So, yeah, does Adam Scott totally love Amy (and vice versa?) I believe it! They are the cutest people ever.

Looks like I'll be makin' that trip to Target in the next day or so.... :P

I'm not really into Parks and Recs fandom, weirdly because I love the show too much to really let fandom ruin it for me, which feels like an awful thing to say, but apparently people are bashing Leslie now, and just--HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE.

Ohhh, Rob Lowe, no. OH ROB LOWE NO. I feel like I'm in the minority in that I think he's actually a good actor, but the whole Emmys thing was just, and now the gag reel and basically I'm like, "Let me never hear about Rob Lowe again off-camera so I can still enjoy my show in peace."

A couple weeks ago I dreamed two new episodes of Parks & Rec, and one of them was a goofy sex comedy featuring a weekend with Leslie/Ben and Ann/Ron (?!) where it was gleefully acknowledged that Leslie and Ron used to do it and might just do it again at any time and nobody felt bad about anything in the slightest. IT WAS A COOL DREAM IS WHAT I'M SAYING.

Ugh, why Parks and Rec fandom? (Though, is it horrible that I kind of saw this coming a mile away, but wanted to be wrong? But am not surprised that I was, in fact, right? I WANTED TO BE WRONG. >:|)

I've seen a few posts here and there (thankfully not directly on my dashboard, but in the notes to some of those blooper posts) whining about how "Everyone needs to STOP hating on Rob Lowe now!1!!" and I'm just over here like, "lolol no they don't, MORE PLEASE".

Adam's face after Rob's phone rang killed me. Mostly because it was about the exact same face I was making through every one of the Rob Lowe bloopers.

...This became my favorite show last year (season 3 SO FANTABULOUS!) but you have just confirmed my inklings that I should stay far, far away from fandom.

Seriously? Leslie bashing? I love Ben, and I love them together...but he has to be cool with being, like First Man.

Also, WTF ROB LOWE. He was my favorite in The Stand. I like him in Parks. But I had never seen Rob Lowe as Rob Lowe before...it's ruined everything.

Oh maaaaan, tumblr is such a fandom boner killer. Totally unrelated but I remember you are or were a Damian Lewis fan and this is too good not to share! Someone on my flist who got into Band of Brothers this summer was looking on Amazon recently for other DLewis-related stuff when she came across this novel (http://www.amazon.com/Meeting-Damian-Lewis-Christine-Wilson/dp/1425950698/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1314139686&sr=8-7).

I was too scared to use the Look Inside feature so I am judging it by its cover, and I judge it to be VERY SPECIAL. See also: the glowing review of the book by the author using her own name!

I recently stumbled across your works when searching to The Big Bang Theory fan fictions to satisfy my need for more SheldonxPenny pieces.

Let me just say, your one and only fan fiction of the series blew my mind. I have read a handful now that are floating around on FanFiction.net, and yours is by far the best yet!
I'm not sure if you're into the series anymore (if not, I recommend you do get into it, since it is very good and I love it lol) but if it's any consolation, I really really wish you'd write a sequel of sorts to your work "The Failure of Einstein's Universe"!!! You are a very gifted writer, and from one writer to another, I urge you to continue in the SheldonxPenny universe as it is lacking without your talent and contributions. ;)
