Moving

Okay, it's Saturday night, and me and [livejournal.com profile] moireach have each been packing all day because she moves on Monday and I move on Wednesday, and it is MISERABLE. We're getting punchy. She just walked into my room and said, "I was just in my room, looking through bags. And I was like, "Oh, a bag of makeup and trash. Makeup and trash. Makeup and trash. Oh, and a thumb drive." Why would I keep a thumb drive in a bag of makeup and trash?"

Here is a better question: why does she keep her makeup and trash together?

ANYWAY, NOW she just walked into my room where I am... not packing and handed me a piece of paper and said, "What were we DOING when we wrote this?" Here is what the paper says, in M's handwriting:

"situations
1. beet farm
2. Dwight's bday
3. Arbor Day
4. the roof
5. bowling alley
6. Radisson
7. 06-06-06
8. Tax Day
9. New Year's
10. snow day
11. Flag Day
12. Columbus Day
13. in a car
14. job interview
15. road trip
16. empty building unit
17. warehouse
18. school
19. in the office afterhours
20. concert
21. wedding
22. hay ride
23. bathroom
24. stairwell and/or elevator
25. Steamtown Mall
26. mini-golf
27. college
28. gym
29. Olive Garden
30. Red Lobster"

Um. Okay. Clearly this is connected to Office fandom in some way, but... what? Places and times that people could do it? Why is "college" on there, though? That seems very general. I mean, I guess it IS technically a list of "situations" but SERIOUSLY, WHAT WERE WE DOING? Making a list of worst fic prompts ever?

Other things I have found today: an envelope of stickers that say "This car is a poem"; a Dundie Award with "Liz Lemon Award" written on it; $5 Canadian; a VHS tape labeled "Adventures with Candy" in my dad's handwriting (pret-ty sure that's the Strangers with Candy movie); a hardcopy of Pack Up Your Bags!; and a note M wrote me while on the phone when she had just started dating her boyfriend, which reads "He just brought up fic. Help help red alert!"

i totally have a sticker that says "this car is a poem" on the bumper of my car. :)

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
SO DO I. And I've been looking for the rest of the stickers for AGES, I'm SUPER PSYCHED I found them!

[personal profile] octette 2009-06-07 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
i had over 100 of those stickers, & they disappeared when i moved to st louis. i think my sister (who loves them more than anyone else i've ever met) may have stolen them.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Heeeeeee, oh man, does she love them? Well, they're GOOD STICKERS. I want to go around just sticking them on random cars, basically.

[identity profile] agate.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
I recognize that list--they are fic prompts from the [livejournal.com profile] office_romances flashfic contest. Misty watercolor memories.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, good memory! Haha, I forgot we ever did that, yiiiiiiiikes.

[identity profile] agate.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, I think [livejournal.com profile] honey_wheeler is still awaiting her prize. I guess the Mosepocalypse will have to be finished by phone now. Uh, not to make this funny memory sad. :(

[identity profile] zarahemla.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'm very sorry to see the end of the Moireach and Kovsky era! Though I'm sure you two are moving on to bright futures.

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I knoooooow, it is way too sad! I mean, exciting new future adventures. But. :(

[identity profile] care-says.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
I'm gonna miss you guys. =(

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
I knoooooooooow! I'm bummed we didn't get to hang out one last time before we're leaving. :( OH WELL. I hope you are surviving your summer thus far!

[identity profile] lowriseflare.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, now that I actually know you both this totally bums me out. But "things I found in the move" is my favorite kind of list. When I was getting my crap out of my mom's house I found 2 deflated exercise balls and a set of curlers for my American Girl doll.

[identity profile] moireach.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, you forgot the most amazing part, that it was the SECOND TIME TONIGHT I'd found a thumb drive in a bag of makeup and trah.

Now I really want an Office episode where Michael does an impression of Santino's impression of Tim Gunn going to Red Lobster.

Also PEOPLE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO bring up Princess Peach/Bowser fanfiction when I'm on the dl about that stuff! It's like talking to a KGB secret agent about, um, Czarina Peach/Bowser fanfiction.

"Making a list of worst fic prompts ever?"

Ain't gonna lie — I laughed!!!

HUGSSSS

Fod has that sticker on her old laptop.

Which lives in my closet.

Because she won't let me throw it out even though it won't boot up.

Because it has ten thousand pictures of Orlando Bloom, organized BY POSE.

HI KOVSKY. I don't know why I always feel a need to comment on your posts when I don't have anything to say, but uh. HERE IS A THUMBS UP.

[identity profile] pearl-o.livejournal.com 2009-07-01 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
DEAR KOVSKY, DO THEY HAVE INTERNET IN KENTUCKY?

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2009-07-01 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
HEEEEE. HI PEARL HI! I have been super busy, but I am mooooooved! And will probably shortly post about it, if I ever get myself together, haha. <3 <3

[identity profile] pearl-o.livejournal.com 2009-07-01 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
I am glad to hear it! I just wanted to make sure you weren't lost or dead! <333333

[identity profile] annakovsky.livejournal.com 2009-07-01 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
YOU ARE SWEET. Heeeeeeeeeeee. I broke a window moving, but did not get lost, THANKFULLY.

[identity profile] kirbybits.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
WHY DO YOU TWO CONTINUE TO MAKE LIFE CHOICES THAT MAKE ME GO :'(

Also, NOW who am I going to quietly talk about fandom with at parties, just to make [livejournal.com profile] throughadoor and [livejournal.com profile] moireach flip out and go "Shhh! SHHHHH!"? Ruining my fuuuuun.

Aka: YAY MOVING SOON. Super stressful, but also clearly hilarious.

[identity profile] mozarts-friend.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahahahaha I love you guys. Also, I want one of those stickers so bad, heeee.

[identity profile] irishmizzy.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Would you stop sneaking in and putting thumb drives in M's bags of makeup and trash, A? Jeez. Clearly you're messing up her very specific packing system.

[identity profile] pennylane83.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahaha you guys <3 <3

[identity profile] greenfish.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
You guys are making me miss Office fandom again, hee. I have no fandom anymore, because my real life has become too pervasive. BLECH.

Good luck with the moving, though! I've been reorganizing my house recently and it's so annoying... not quite as bad as moving, but, you know. Sort of related or something?

[identity profile] miss-bennie.livejournal.com 2009-06-07 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahahaha, you know, I very clearly remember when you emailed us after M passed you that note. Heeeee.

I think my first thought at reading this was, 'Huh. Who knew she owned so much makeup?'

Gawd. Good luck with the packing, lady. As the students say here (ad nauseum really) "Yes we can!" (It's kinda cute when they say it though.)
